I was supposed to take the day off Monday to be with my family, but we were so slammed at work that I could not get away. It did however work out that since I had the time off request in already I got to take Tuesday off . Monday was Julia's birthday so John (her dad) came out to help with a low- key celebration.
I had been thinking of doing a long bike ride out towards Temecula, and after dinner I laid out a ridiculous plan to two silent (but I'm sure laughing inside at me) Loncars. I thought I could get to Fallbrook using a cool almost all off road route I had patched together in my head if everything went in my favor.
Tuesday Morning Julia ( angry & jealous) headed off to work and I got to spend some time with John. He bought me breakfast and headed out a little after 9:00am. At first I tried to ignore my plan and get some rest, but I couldn't get the ride out of my head and was saddled up and on my way by a little after 10:00.
I made it almost to Temecula, and missed a huge chunk of dirt that I had planned, but here is the data from my GPS to show you what I did do. Julia picked me up on the side of the road tired and ready for a shower. I had two flats and forgot to tighten my presta valve on the second, so I had to stop and fill up (DOH!). I don't know if the ride I originally had planned is possible in one day (for me), but I will try again, with Julia, one day soon...
