Hot Tour of California Action!

The Tour of California this year was as good as any European stage race.  They started in Sacramento and over a weeks time road throughout the state, ending the race on Sunday in Escondido.  Julia and I went out for the last stage, we went early and got a perfect spot on the last major climb of the race.

The camp:
Even the cops were partying:
Julia was showing off yellow:
They asked us not to paint the roads like they do in Europe, but Lance's people passed out chalk:
The support and team cars eventually rolled in after they closed the roads:

And Julia got the cowbell ready:
The helicopters were watching us:

Okay-seriously, these are the coolest f'ing team cars in the history of team cars:

The riders finally showed up, and I got some pictures of Lance. They may be the only ones I ever get of him racing, unless he comes back next year:

The sprinters are the last to make it up the climbs:
Then they opened the roads, and we headed out. It took forever to get home because of the traffic, but it was awesome.
